My dd tested positive. She's triple vaccinated.
She yesterday on days 5 and 6 and was negative, now on days 7 and 8 shes positive again?
Is she still infectious ? She's desperate to go back to normal.
I'm dying to go out and see my dp but not if I could be spreading it also.
I've tested negative the whole way through

I think legally she'll have to isolate until 10 days unfortunately?

JanglyBeads · 02/01/2022 15:36

Under the rules she didin't need to test again, so she's out of isolation as far as I can see...

However yes I think it would be very sensible to keep her in until after day 10 OP.

Not really. Guidelines are day 6 and 7. 7 was + so needs to self isolate

Under the rules she needs to test negative on days 6 and 7 which she hasn't done so so she will need to isolate the full 10 days.

Yes she will stay in until day 10 but I suppose my question is, is she still infectious ? Is there a chance I could still get it ?

Why did she test on day 5?
Just being nosy

JanglyBeads · 02/01/2022 15:42

Oh apologies I misread.
Yes she is still infectious OP.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 02/01/2022 15:44

She should only have tested on days 6 & 7. Bear in mind that the first day of symptoms or the day you test positive (whichever first) is day 0 (not day 1)

Why are people testing before this? Pointless waste of tests and time.

If you get a negative on day 6 then you should test at least 24hrs later and if you get another negative, you can leave isolation early.

Yes. Keep her isolated until 10 days is up. Studies have shown that vast majority of people aren’t shedding virus at the 9 day point, hence the 10 day rule.
