If your 18-year-old has had Covid in the past 2-3 weeks and/or a booster jab, how has he /she been?

18-year-old DD seems in no particular hurry to have the booster jab. I'm conscious that if she was a few months younger or had had her second jab one month later, she wouldn't even be eligible for a booster, so I'm not convinced that I should trying to persuade her to get boosted asap. Four of DS's (double jabbed) friends, aged 20 or 21, have had Covid very recently. At least two were completely asymptomatic. None were seriously ill and all were fully recovered by the end of the isolation period. 21-year-old DS has recently had a booster (Moderna) because he needs it for travel abroad. Was a bit ill the following day, but felt OK by the evening. Interested in others' experiences of very recent (therefore probably Omicron) Covid or of boosters in this age group.

DD1 had hers at 19 a few weeks ago - offered early at Uni due to the course she is studying. No ill effects at all.

Dd is 18 and every single one of her 6 friends have tested positive for covid in the last 3 weeks (very oddly she’s the only one that’s stayed negative!) all of them double jabbed, all of them asymptomatic.

That's interesting @Bagelsandbrie. Does make me wonder whether encouraging recently double jabbed 18-year-olds to get boostered is sensible or responsible.

DD19 had a booster and caught Covid in the same week it was very mild - she's had colds that were worse.

Dd had booster just before Christmas. No side effects bar a slight headache and sore arm next day. Same with the two other jabs, all Pfizer.

So far, despite numerous close contacts, she has evaded covid as far as we know. She has tested frequently, inc PCR after close contacts. Pre vaccine her antibody tests were negative. She does now have vaccine acquired antibodies - or rather did after first two, not been checked since booster.

DD19 had her booster on 14th Dec and tested positive for Covid on 28th Dec.

She is fine, totally asymptomatic and all LFTs negative throughout. She only took a PCR because I had symptoms and tested positive on LFT so we both took PCRs since her younger brother had already tested positive on 15th Dec.

DS and his friends all got Covid, all were vaccinated, for all of them it was like a bad flu (week in bed with a bad headache, temperature and no wish to eat).

My 17y old had a Pfizer booster (third jab) between Christmas and NY. No side effects except a slight sore arm. He's been out and about, including London on public transport. He has a cold. No sign of covid on lat flows. Most of his friends have covid at the moment, not much different from his cold but reporting headaches as well. the friends are double jabbed, but not booster.

(Just turned) 20 year old dd
First two jags but didn't want the booster, tested positive Christmas Day and hasn't had a single symptom. Only tested as she was a close contact.
