Can my child come home?

So my son is currently with his dad and is due to come home on Monday, I tested positive on Thursday and to self isolate. Is he allowed to be dropped off to me? His dad has to travel so he cannot stay with him any longer . Thank you for your help

Yes. Plenty of parents have tested positive with no other options for childcare.

Of course, essential has always been fine

SilverGlitterBaubles · 01/01/2022 16:06

Yes of course, he is your child. Out of interest OP who do you thing would ever be policing such a thing.

OliveTree75 · 01/01/2022 16:08

Of course

KCee30 · 01/01/2022 16:40

Of course. Ideally he would stay put but given the circumstances he needs to come home and allowed to do so.

@SilverGlitterBaubles

I mean when I say allowed I mean should he go to grandparents for a couple days 🤣

@mummak0 I think it depends how sick you are and where you are in his illness. If you're asymptomatic, he should come home to you. But if you are unwell/may still get sicker then maybe its best to go to his grandparents now, rather than you struggle to look after him and then his grandparents being worried about taking him once he's been exposed.

If you have the option I would send him to the grandparents until you have recovered. But obvs no legal requirement.
