I know if you test negative on LFT on days 6&7 24hrs apart you can end isolation as long as you do not have symptoms.

My DH tested positive and in isolation at PIL's as he can safely isolate there without having to come into contact with anyone else.

We're still LF daily for 7 days.

What I'd like to know is if he tested on days 4-8 and they were all negative would it be 'safe' for him to come home or wait the full 10 days. If he is negative he'd go back to work on day 8 as although he can't WFH he works alone in the bit he is in.

I don't want him to come back on day 8 and have the possibility of him spreading it. DH suggested testing from day 4 meaning he'd have 4 days of negative LF's (hopefully).

I'm vaccinated and had a booster but don't want to expose the children unnecessarily.

he dpesnt need to test from day 4, he will ikely still test positive on day 4 and that is just a waste of lfts
He can test on day 6 as advised, and again on day7. if both negative it is highly likely he is no longer infectious at that stage.
But if you're concerned, and he can and wnats to, then there is no harm in him staying where he is for an extra couple of days? But yes, he can end isolation offically with 2 consecutive lateral flow tests on days 6 and 7 - or thereafter, or after day 10 without a negative lft.

It’s whatever you both feel comfortable with, if he tests negative on days 6 and 7 and has no symptoms, then he is ok to end isolation, but if you are at all worried he’s still infectious, then wait until the 10 days are up, to be sure.

Ah okay. Thank you. Just wasn't sure if it'd still be lingering on day 8 if he had 2 negative LF's.

He wants to come home but I think it's just a wait and see thing.
