What are my isolation/symptom dates?

I've had a cough for weeks, 3 weeks ago was my last pcr - negative (around 4/12)
15/12 cough got a bit worse, but manageable
17/12 went to Dr's and was prescribed something to clear mucus from nose.
20/12 started coughing uncontrollably, no other symptoms
22/12 dp tests positive on lft
23/12 pcr test done
24/12 coughing is really bad, chest pains, more mucus, slightly runny nose. Several lfts done over the last week, been negative until today.
26/12 positive pcr result received for me and dp. DD test negative.

No other symptoms, but still testing strong positive on lfts today.

With my symptoms Im not sure when my correct symptom start day is and when I can leave isolation, I put 17th down cos my cough changed, but should the slight runny nose be the new symptom, but that might have been caused by the nose medicine I got.
Dp and DD got same symptoms as me, so did he pass to me or me to him.

I’d probably count isolation from the day of your most recent PCR, so the 26th, since you don’t actually know when your symptoms started.

Why did you take a LFT today? Hmm

rainbowandglitter · 30/12/2021 21:44

I'd go from pcr test date as you can't be sure when your symptoms started

I'd take PCR test on 23rd as day 1.

Which means you're day 8 today but as still positive on LFT you need to isolate until Saturday midnight.

Because I thought my isolation date was earlier so wanted to monitor and leave isolation earlier.

Irony is that I didn't need to take a pcr test if I had no symptoms.

But you did have symptoms - a cough that's got significantly worse

@Auntycorruption

But you did have symptoms - a cough that's got significantly worse
But if my worsened symptoms count as new covid ones, I'm therefore out of isolation. I did ask my gp if I needed to take another pcr and she said no but I'm thinking I should have done. I do think it was this, rather than catching it from my dp as their symptoms matched mine. I've been isolating since 20th so not been anywhere.
