12-15 second dose

Just wondering whether any non-vulnerable children have managed to get a second dose in England at walk in clinic earlier than 12 weeks? It would be about 10 weeks and they are female. Would prefer a vaccine before back in covid soup school.

Yes, my DS had his at a drop in centre. You do need to have 12 weeks between doses though.

When my son was vaccinated a couple of weeks ago the nurse told us it has been reduced to 8 weeks between vaccines, he's 12.

I'm a volunteer and we are turning away anyone under 12 weeks. It may be a local policy but it has been adhered to.

It's 12 weeks for non vulnerable.
Most of the vulnerable 12-15 year olds I know are still waiting for their 2nd dose as GPs are prioritising boosters and vaccination centres won't work for them.

My step daughter had her first jab yesterday and they said it will be 12 weeks ish for her second...... not sure what the ish means! Perhaps it will depend on how busy they are at 8-12 week mark.

My 12yo ds is booked in for his second next Saturday. It will be 12 weeks since first.
I booked it on the 'book a vaccine 'page last week.

SandyDays · 30/12/2021 09:20

I keep trying to book them but the nearest centre showing is over 70 miles away so I will have to keep trying until a closer one becomes available

JessicaKenny2018 · 30/12/2021 09:26

Not sure why the vaccinator said 8 weeks then, it definitely says 12 weeks on government website

WhenZoomWasJustAnIceLolly · 30/12/2021 15:37

I took mine yesterday ten weeks after first jab. They were about to turn us away until I said they were vulnerable and then they said they are vaccinating those with health conditions after 8 weeks.

OK, looks as if will need to wait, it is just a bit annoying as it is a 40min journey each way and the youngest (different school) will be at 12 weeks sooner whereas the older one we finally got into a walk in 3 weeks before offered at school. Just means we have to go twice, plus would be nice to all be fully vaccinated.
