So worried about my prem baby who is 1.5 years old now. She doesn’t have any underlying health issues that we know of, but this was a worrying read for me:

Any positive experiences to help calm the nerves. Anxiety is so high i am considering keeping her older brothers out of school for a few weeks extra until more is known on how omricon is affecting children.

My DS had it at 2, whilst I was very ill in bed (alpha variant before vaccination) he was his usual bouncy self. The only way you could tell he was slightly under the qeatgwr was that he slept an extra hour in the morning!

Children typically get it much milder and omicron is showing to be even mild in adults. Children have also been shown to clear it quicker from their systems.

I teach four year olds and I am always surrounded by young children. The worst case in an under 5 I've ever heard of needed Calpol for a temp and had a bit of a cough.

I have covid now and I suspect I got it off my little boy who started with a ‘cold’ on Monday 20th, he has a cold every other week (first winter at nursery) and he had no typical symptoms so didn’t get a PCR. I came down with said cold on Thursday and tested positive on Saturday - so I strongly suspect I got it from him, he has a cough as a result of the cold now but is negative now on lat flows and a PCR.

However he was/is fine. A lingering mild cough and snotty nose but probably one of the easiest things he’s brought back from nursery. He’s 21mo.

I currently know 4 under 5's who have it and they all just have a bit of a cold. No high temperature or coughs.

Mine is also prem and was 1.5 when she caught covid. (In fact she had it twice in 8 week delta then omricon) Anyway, she had a very very mild fever for 12 hours and that was it. Like you I was horrified when she caught covid and was convinced it would be bad. In fact both my 9 yr old DS and 1.5 years old DD both had it very mild. Please don’t worry.
