My 6 month old has covid. Panicky mum help

So my 6 month old tested positive for covid and I'm a mess of worry.

She's a sore throat and has been sleepy today and doesn't seem too ill, but I'm so worried about what signs to look out for in case I have to take her to a doctor or a and e.

Any articles or info on babies timeliness with covid?
I barely slept last night due to checking she was breathing and so know I'm a mess of sleeplessness and worrying but would appreciate any positive stories of other mums who's babies have been fine, or things to watch out for.

My three month old has it. She had a mild fever that lasted about 6 hours and came straight down with paracetamol. Two days later, she has a snotty nose, keeps on sneezing and is a little bit clingy/grumpy (nothing major, just doesn’t want to be put down)

I spoke to our paediatrician over email (we are not in the UK) and she was really reassuring and said it was usually very mild in young kids. She said treat the fever, give saline drops for the nasal congestion and basically breastfeed as much as possible (if you bf obviously) My older two kids (5 and 3) have also been positive, and I would say the baby has had it the easiest out of them all.

My daughter had RSV about six weeks ago and that was honestly much worse and much more of a worry to me.

Wishing your DC a speedy recovery!

My 2 and 1 year old girls just had it - bit quieter than usual and high temps on and off for 3 days but that's all then totally normal again - hope your little one is over it soon x

My baby had it recently at 4 months old. He had a temperature for a day or two that came down with calpol. After that, he was a bit more clingy than usual but you wouldn't have known that he was poorly at all. I was so worried at the start just like you - I rang my GP who was really helpful and reassuring. I'd recommend doing that to help talk through the anxiety of it. Hope your little one is better soon.

How did you find out they have covid? I have a 6 week old who has been in close contact with my brother who tested positive for covid. My baby has been very fussy last night and today

We did a PCR after he developed a temperature. His Dad had covid at the same time too so knew it was likely.

Thank you.
Ringing GP tomo when they open first thing.

We did a pcr on her, tho the swab barely fit up her nose.
