Positive lft what to do next

Hi all.

Had a positive lft this morning on routine twice weekly lft and have started to feel ill aswell, fuzzy head, tired, aching limbs etc

I know I need to book a PCR but there's none showing as available, closest one is wales.

Do I actually have to go for a PCR? I'm double jabbed plus booster and have been for months I'm in one of the priority categories.

If I got a postal one surely it would take ages to get there and back.

How long do you have to get a PCR I'm updating the booking page regularly

We have notified contacts whom we have seen within the last few days ourselves.and they have all done lft and all negative

If I can't get a test can I just isolate for the next 7-10 days . I don't understand the 7 day thing. I understand that if you get a negative lft on days 6 and 7 you can stop isolation but what if one is positive do you do it again on days 8-9, this is all so confusing and fuzzy head isn't helping

Im a SAHM so don't need a PCR result for work etc

Can anyone advise please? Can you just turn up to a test center without a booking?

Postal PCR. Very fast. There are priority post boxes all over the place. It’s easy.

Stay isolating now. Test on day 6/7/8 and if you’re clear and symptom free on day 7 onwards you can come out of isolation.

You are not obligated to do a PCR though. So don’t if you don’t want to.

You are obligated if you want work to pay your wages whilst sick/isolating though!!

@lemonsaretheonlyfruit

I tested positive 8 days ago and have not done a PCR but have followed all of the rules (including spending Christmas Day on my own). I care about not putting others at risk. I don't care about providing info to the government or being bombarded by texts and calls telling me to isolate when I know exactly what to do. I don't need it to be on my medical records. It feels as if it benefits everyone but the person taking the test!
I wouldn’t worry about the bombarded with texts.

DH got contacted by T&T by text message this morning. I filled in the T&T form as he was sleeping in.

I’d read on MN that, if you fill in the emails/numbers of all your household, they’ll treat you all as independent cases. Thus, I filled in my toddler’s email address as ‘[email protected]’ and my older son as ‘[email protected]’. No phone numbers provided (or needed). I also ticked the box that I would inform my 22 month old and his five-year-old brother about the self-isolation guidelines (!).

So far, cross fingers, we haven’t been bothered by anyone…

I know someone who is waiting for a postal PCR ordered on 19th. They have isolated and are now negative on LFT so life resumes
