Positive PCR after covid.

My family is part of an ONS study, and we do monthly PCRs. Two of us had Covid earlier this month. We are now testing negative on LFTs. Our December PCR was last Wednesday, the day after ds came out of isolation. I've just been notified that he tested positive so the whole household should self-isolate, and that contact tracing has been initiated so they (NHS T&T?) will be contacting me.

What can I expect? Are we going straight back into SI? I know it's a legal requirement to do so if told to by T&T, but will this happen when we're told that PCRs are unreliable for 3 months after having Covid?

Plus we've just arrived at the grandparents 300miles away from home, after having quarantined ourselves for 10 days to protect them!

Did you not explain this to the tester? I'm part of the ONS study and informed them when I had Covid, they overruled my positive result so I didn't have to isolate again.

I did. But the email I received made no mention of it.

I would let T&T know when they call. You shouldn't have to isolate again.

Also are you not in England? Because if you are then the whole household doesn't need to isolate either.

We are in England. We are not impressed by the ONS's information management. They lost Dh part way through the study, and asked us for the dates of our Covid jabs every single week for the first 5 weeks of our participation. We were all fully jabbed on week 1, how were they thinking that information would change?

I had this with my youngest. I had the call from T&T and explained it to them, they told me to call 119, eventually i was given an email address so explained via email and was told she didn't need to isolate after that.
