Vaccine arm pain coming back when exposed to covid?

Got booster about a month ago, normal achy arm for a few days that then went away.

Yesterday I woke up with a sore arm again, and thought I must have pulled a muscle or slept funny. It still aches today and doesn't seem to be a muscle - there's nowhere that feels achy when you prod it, if you see what I mean.

Daughter just tested + with a PCR this morning- so I wondered if this could be a symptom of my body fighting off the virus? Or random coincidence. Anyone else had this?

Random coincidence. The vaccine stays in your muscle for a maximum of a few hours.

No idea, but I have an old breast abscess site that aches when I get a virus. I think it’s something to do with injured tissues being more sensitive to inflammation related pain.

@Cookerhood how come people have reported symptoms for up to 2 weeks? I think there's some immunological response that continues inflammation beyond the vaccine being there, no?

Yes but not locally I wouldn't have thought. Although of course inflammation may still be there but it wouldn't flare up from the vaccine

I think mine is probably coincidence, of course. But I was asking about the many reports of site pain continuing for weeks continued from jab, and how that squared with your assertion that it's all gone within hours.

BIL has had the same thing with the arm pain coming back. He had to get SIL to drive as it was so painful.

Hmmm. I had my booster three weeks ago and my arm was very painful for about three days. In the past couple of days it's started to hurt again, and feel itchy. I thought I'd pulled something too, but the pain isn't in the place where a pulled muscle would be iyswim.

I've done an LFT this morning which was negative and I've had no contact with anyone since the 22nd so I don't think it's anything to do with an infection.

We have just got positives in the house and DH has said his 2nd vaccine arm, not his booster arm is hurting so seems true for him too.

My vaccine site started to be painful when I caught covid.

I had the booster 6 weeks ago, no major side effects, but my arm was painful for about a week.
Had Covid last week, (like a bad cold) and my arm was very painful for a few days.

I had my booster 6 weeks ago and I've had pain that comes and goes in my arm ever since. Sometimes it is really rather painful and not related to any kind of activity. Didn't have anything other than a dull ache for a couple of days after the first few jabs.

I've got Covid now but arm feels OK for the first time in weeks!

Sobek · 27/12/2021 16:27

First two jabs not first few!

My husband currently has covid. I’m still testing negative though after a few days got a repeat of the same symptoms I got from my last jab. Arm is sore as well. It’s very strange.
