Third primary dose or booster, what's the difference?

When I took my son for his 3rd jab they said it was a third primary vaccine and to come back for a booster. He's CEV/immunosuppressed.

What's the difference and when does he have the booster then?

The vaccine type Pfizer/Moderna etc) they use & the quantity of vaccine used - which varies depending on the type.

Ah ok I've found it. So he has booster 3 months after the 3rd dose now. Sorry I can't keep up.

Yes the difference is that immunosupressed get an extra dose, as they may not make a full immune response to the vaccine, so they get an extra top up.

If he has a third primary dose of Moderna or Pfizer it will be the full dose of either. If he has a booster of Moderna it will be half a dose, whereas Pfizer booster is a full dose.
