Positive LFT. Feeling nervous

So my STBXH dropped over last night for an LFT as feeling rough. Started with cough yesterday morning. It was very positive.

Tested the children this morning. One negative the other positive. Both coughing. But both seem to have had a cough that has morphed into one for weeks.

I was at mums yesterday with the children. I’ve told her. I’ve ordered LFTs for future testing (in Wales) and we all have PCR booked this morning.

What happens next? I’m triple jabbed. Children aren’t as very young. STBXH is an anti vaxer do isn’t vaccinated at all.

Told mum as she has to go see my very elderly nan. I guess if I’m negative I don’t have to isolate with the negative child? But the two positive ones do?

Most families with young kids aren't isolating within in the home OP. It's just not practical.
Keep the house ventilated is all you can really do.

Everyone isolates until you get your PCR results. Then only the positive people need to. Hope you're all feeling ok.

You don't say the age of your child but those with kids are generally not isolating them.

I know a couple of families which didn't isolate without the home and the whole family didn't necessarily get it. Ventilation is key as viral load is key. They took precautions extra washing of cutlery and cups etc and slept separately where possibly. It's not a given youll all get it, and chances are you may not be very unwell either.

Personally I’d isolate with the whole family. You’re bound to become positive if you’re around young children who are positive. Otherwise you’re just putting other people at risk.

Please don't isolate your kids from you, it's really unnecessary. I wouldn't have dreamed of doing that when we had Covid. Better to accept you'll probably all catch it and isolate together if you can.

You don’t have to isolate. DH and DD never caught it when I had it so you never know.
