I’m really struggling to keep up with rules. Work colleague says she was ‘pinged’ on 23rd as a friend who was at her house has Covid. Colleague says she now has to isolate and therefore can’t make our meeting on 27th.
So close contacts have to isolate still then? I didn’t think they did! And could she not have got a PCR in that time? It’s not a disaster but it was a pretty crucial meeting.

She only has to isolate if she’s not vaccinated. The messages from test and trace can be confusing though. When my husband got his positive test he got a follow up message saying he and everyone in the household had to isolate. A call to test and trace confirmed it was only unvaccinated adults who needed to isolate.

Thank you - I didn’t think it was right.

@HarrietMarriet

Thank you - I didn’t think it was right.
1) You don't know if the person is vaccinated.
  1. Even if they are - the government advice is that even though they are not legally required to self-isolate they should follow this guidance...

"limit close contact with people outside your household, especially in crowded, enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces and work from home if you are able to"

So your colleague is being very sensible.

Are you in England? Everyone in the household has to isolate for 10 days in Scotland. Not sure of rules for Wales and NI

HarrietMarriet · 25/12/2021 20:28

@bobbie42 I do know she is vaccinated.
Meeting can be moved to online - I would never question her, just wondered on here as I genuinely can’t keep track.

Yes, in England.
