2nd dose time limit window for 12-15 if they had covid after first dose?

My dd is 13 and had 1st Pfizer in September. Mid Oct she got covid.

So I have a booking for her booster next week and it will be 10.5 weeks since her positive test. I booked for her and my 15yo when the media said that this age group were allowed to get boosters.

Today I received a letter for both teens informing me to book their 2nd but the letter said that the 2nd jab needs to be 12 weeks after a positive test.

Why is it 12 weeks after a positive test for this cohort when it’s only 4 weeks for adults? In other countries it’s not even 4 weeks, it’s as soon as isolation ends.

Would they really turn us away after 10.5 weeks? It would be annoying as we have to drive an hour to a place that will do 12-15s.

They changed it to 12 weeks to cut the risk of myocarditis.

Yep it’s 12 weeks. I started a thread as my dd missed her first dose at school as she had covid. We waited the 28 days and took her sling only to be turned away as the rules changed to 12 weeks. Another poster on the thread was recently turned away about 10 weeks post covid.

Omg!
Thanks for info

I will wait for both of them to be done then, as when my dd tested positive, me and my dh also had it. But my 15yo apparently didn’t have it as he never tested positive - but symptoms were so mild for them both that 15yo could easily have had it and we didn’t catch it on LF or the one PCR he took.
