Like a horrible version of the Craig David song I think I was exposed to covid on Sunday when she was over. Had booster next morning. Now I have tested positive Wednesday evening. Cold symptoms so far.

I'm worried about my body receiving a double dose of the virus however. Any reassurances ?

My dad (aged 75, heart condition and just finished cancer treatment) had the same thing: Thinks he was exposed to the virus on the Sunday, booster on Tuesday, started feeling unwell Wednesday, tested positive on Friday. His symptoms were a minor sore throat and wanting to go bed early for about 4 days. That was it, he was totally back to normal within a week.

Obviously entirely anecdotal but hopefully reassuring.

OP I've been worried about the same thing. I had the booster on Sunday and DD tested positive on Monday, so it's likely that I was exposed to covid a couple of days before the jab. It doesn't help that I have awful health anxiety!

I've tried to read up on this. I did find a reassuring article (will try to find the link) that suggested it wouldn't be harmful to be exposed to both the virus and the vaccine.

When you think about it, this must happen all the time. If there was a significant risk, people would be asked to take a test before having the vaccine.

I unknowingly had covid when I had my booster, although I don't know when I caught it. I was rough in bed for a few days (blame it on the booster), knackered and not great but functional for another 2 weeks.

My view is that it was probably helpful to have had the booster - I think it probably kick started my immune response quicker due to there being more of the "virus" in my system than there was actual harmful virus iyswim. I'm clinically vulnerable so relieved to have had it as mildly as I did.

I was exposed on Sunday, booster Tues afternoon. Rash on fri and sat then horrendous thumping headache for two days sat & sun. However my LF tests were negative (only did two because we don’t have many) and I’m still awaiting pcr results so at the moment I have to assume it was just side effects of the jab. If it was Covid it was absolutely fine, two days of fairly mild illness.

…however, if it was Moderna booster side effects - it was pretty nasty!
