TMI but still producing lots of phlegm after Covid

Sorry if this is TMI!

I had Covid in October, followed by pneumonia and then an upper respiratory tract infection. I needed four courses of antibiotics to clear the infection.

I have recovered from the infection although I’m still really tired (sleeping upwards of 10 hours a night and still tired in the day) the thing that is bothering me the most though is that I’m still producing a lot of phlegm. I’m having to cough/clear my throat almost constantly during the day which is a bit embarrassing during Skype meetings! It’s particularly bad for the first couple of hours after I wake up

Has anyone else had this as a long term effect of Covid and if so how long did it last?

Maybe. At some point during the first lockdown I found that any time I laid on my back, for even a few seconds, I was producing/coughing up phlegm. With hindsight I believe I probably had Covid asymptomatically prior to that.

What makes me think this is that it was about the same time it was being publicised that it was important to prone covid patients (lay them on their front). I sleep on my front anyway and I just ensured from that point that any time I was lying down that I faced my front rather than back towards the mattress, so just leaning slightly forward. This minimised the phlegm production so it was just slightly annoying rather than problematic. Its probably worth trying if you can.

I have no clue how long it lasted because I live alone and was shielding so the months merged together really, but it was quite a while. It has completely gone though for what that's worth.
