Isolating as a contact

I work for a small business (less than 10 people) and most of the industry I work in is made up of either self employed people, 2 partners or small businesses. (Probably the biggest organisation i know is 20 people)

One of the messengers came in today and said in his workplace people were "dropping like flies" and that some people had confirmed covid, sone were waiting on pcrs and one was unvaccinated so had to isolate as well.

Without going in to the ins and outs of whether you should be vaccinated, how does isolation work wrt to pay? If you have to isolate, are you paid normally, or do you get sick pay? (Is it up to the employer?)
I've had probably 5 or 6 notifications via the app since October, and taken a pcr most times but as I am vaccinated I have not had to isolate. But that would be a massive amount of time off (admittedly some of the periods would have overlapped) and difficult for colleagues to cover.

Sick pay as per your contract If you cannot work because of coronavirus (COVID-19)
You could get SSP if you’re self-isolating because:

you or someone you live with has COVID-19 symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19
you’ve been notified by the NHS or public health authorities that you’ve been in contact with someone with COVID-19
someone in your support bubble (or your ‘extended household’ if you live in Scotland or Wales) has COVID-19 symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19
you’ve been advised by a doctor or healthcare professional to self-isolate before going into hospital for surgery
You could get SSP for every day you’re off work.
