When safe after close contact?

In contact with positive cases on Wednesday thursday and Friday. Getting PCR today and lfts negative. Safe to visit family in a few days if pcr negative or still risky as could take up to 10 days to show infection?

Depends on your and their attitudes to risk doesn’t it - if negative lft right before hopefully ok but who knows

Thanks. True. I'd be staying at family with dc. Dh cant make it until later on. So potentially if I tested one morning and it was positive I'd have to drive home immediately with dc.. but I suppose that's always the case. I just dont know.

Is close contact a thing any more? It isn't in schools. But whatever the incubation period, that's when you'd be 'safe'.

Faulty logic here. We're never 'safe' as you could be in contact with a positive case at any time and not realise. Same as you're never 'safe' getting in a car, as that could be the day you have an accident.

PCR and daily LFTs are a good seatbelt, you're fine OP
