Flu jab and booster in same week?

I'm asthmatic and having my flu jab Monday and covid booster Wednesday.
DH had covid booster yesterday and feels awful. He says I'm nuts to have them so close together. WWYD?

They are giving them together (one in each arm) as standard in my area.

No side effects for me. I had Pfizer booster, what did your DH have?

As I understand it, it's safe to have them at the same time.

I'd go ahead unless a medical professional had advised me otherwise.

I had flu jab on a Friday and Booster (Pfizer after 2x AZ) on the Monday. Was fine no issues.

Scarby9 · 18/12/2021 20:16

In the same two minutes for lots of people I knw. They were offering them alongside boosters at the centre I went to as well.
Very handy.

PennyPinkPineapple · 18/12/2021 20:18

Ok, I will just carry on and have both!

Asthmatic dh had them at the same time, one in each arm. One arm, I forgot which one, was a bit sore, that was all.

wheresmymojo · 18/12/2021 20:37

I had mine on the same day

DismantledKing · 18/12/2021 20:39

I had my flu jab and Covid booster within 3 days of each other. No problem at all.

BeyondMyWits · 18/12/2021 20:39

I had one in each arm. Pfizer arm hurt like hell for a couple of days, that was all...

tangyandsalty · 18/12/2021 20:41

I'm asthmatic and had them one day after the other. Didn't get any effects from either of them.

shouldistop · 18/12/2021 20:48

It's fine. Babies get several vaccinations at the same time remember.

PennyPinkPineapple · 18/12/2021 21:20

@shouldistop yes you're right...he is a baby! 😂

Grin tbf I felt pretty rough after my first Covid jag. Was ok after my second and haven't had my third yet.

Floralnomad · 18/12/2021 21:36

When we had our boosters they asked when we’d had our flu jab as at that time you had to either have them together or have a seven day gap .

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 18/12/2021 21:57

I was asked if I was having both when I had my booster on Tuesday. One was quite enough for me so I said no (I'm not entitled to a free flu jab either) and to be honest after the problems with my arm with my previous vaccines I wouldn't want both arms to be out of action!

vodkaredbullgirl · 18/12/2021 22:03

Had flu jab on a Tuesday and booster on the Friday. My dd has both her's next week, few days apart.

NoFitStateMum · 18/12/2021 22:19

They have trialled giving them at the same appointment and found it to be fine.

NavigatingAdolescence · 18/12/2021 22:19

I had them on the same day (NHS worker). 🤷🏻‍♀️

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 18/12/2021 22:37

I had mine together - my consultant wasn't happy when she found out but it was fine.
My 15 year old had hers 2 days apart and was fine.
