What's the risk after just having covid.

All of us have had covid over the last week or two. All mild all varying symptoms. Unsure if it's omicron or not.

One of us has finished isolation, 2 nearly done and Dd who caught it last will be isolating until Christmas Eve. Will be 3 bloody weeks of it. Dp caught it off someone at work who thought they just had a cold - turns out it was covid.

We will be hopefully seeing family between Christmas and new year!!

Like I said, unsure if omicron so assuming not.

What's the risk of covid after having covid? With omicron? I know we should be somewhat protected and me and dp are double jabbed but keep reading that delta does not protect against omicron and you can get infected with omicron easily?

Sil works in a school as a ta. In her class the vast majority of pupils have tested positive this week as has the teacher so they shut down early for Christmas on Wednesday. Sil seems fine, so far. She's not testing regularly as wants to go out doing everything and still wants to travel here for Christmas (her parents who live nearby). What's the risk of re infection so soon? Our in laws don't take it seriously in general. They always have someone there staying, parties, not following the rules (when they were in place), telling us still go over there when isolating etc. Also they are against the vaccines.

Now I'm not really scared of covid or getting seriously ill. I used to be bur we've have had it now and was relatively mild.

I just don't want to go through this again!

I also want to see my own vulnerable grandma around new year. I don't want to catch anything and spread it to her when we are fully out of isolation!

Hey OP. I was just watching someone talking about this on the news earlier this week. I believe they said if you're double jabbed and have just recovered from Covid, you're pretty much in the best shape immunity-wise for a good few months. Obviously no guarantees, but it doesn't get much better than that, particularly if you then get your booster 28 days later.
I believe this is what they said and hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along and confirm!

Well you are told not to test for three months after confirmed case of covid as it could be old virus hanging around. In your shoes I would be put and about enjoying life now you’ve done your bit by isolating.
The people you mix with are much more likely to be spreading it than you so get out and enjoy yourself before we end up in lockdown!

Thanks. We are double jabbed and had booster booked but had to cancel and rescheduled for jan. if it wasn't for omicron I would be happy we are a little more protected but I'm sure I keep reading that delta doesn't protect you from omicron! Bad times 😪

I just don't want to do this all again anytime soon. Dc have sen so testing them has been hell as they hate it. Thankfully when they did test positive their symptoms were pretty mild!

My isolation ends early next week but will still technically be isolating as Dd will be in until Christmas Eve! 😪
