What to do about kids party?

We have (virus allowing) elderly PILs coming to stay at Xmas. My DS6 has been invited to a party this Sunday. Do I let him attend considering virus levels and seeing elderly relatives?

I feel bad for my DS but we would all be gutted if we caught it in the run up.

Not sure, I’m struggling with a similar dilemma!

It's so hard to know what to do for the best!

But they have had x3 jabs? Your son shouid go to the party I don't se an issue here.

SkankingMopoke · 16/12/2021 15:10

Has he been at school all week? Are the children at the party basically his classmates?

IGotHam · 16/12/2021 15:47

Yes he's been at school this week but the party is not with his classmates.

Yes PILS are fully jabbed but from what I gather this doesn't stop omicron.

3 jabs doesn't stop delta either - it's about severity not whether or not you get it. This hasn't changed.

I wouldn’t take the risk with someone elderly or otherwise more vulnerable. Elderly people don’t always mount a good immune response from vaccinations.

No, you shouldn't. It's really sad, but the risk isn't worth it. Have Christmas together as a family and then make allowances for socialising afterwards.
