I've got a couple of people on my social media who are anti vaccination and are always putting stuff up about the vaccine and the whole pandemic is a way of controlling people.

I'm just wondering if anyone here can explain to me why some people think this?

They're thick as shit.

Because conspiracy theories make stupid people feel clever.

bestdhever · 16/12/2021 09:32

@RedRobyn2021 look there are people out there who think the world is flat...let them think what they want and move on. Head and brick wall come to mind. Grin

the80sweregreat · 16/12/2021 09:36

I don't think they are all ' thick ' , I don't agree with them , but their arguments are as valid as those who are happy to be vaccinated and are having the boosters ( I am)
I think there is a lot of misinformation around and a fear of a vaccine which is new, which I do understand to be honest.
Plus many do have devastating side effects to it too.
It's not a black or white argument really.
It's causing more divisions though and that is also sad I think.

but their arguments are as valid as those who are happy to be vaccinated and are having the boosters ( I am)

So there arguments are as valid as the combined expertise of the scientists at the WHO, NHS, CDC etc?
Really?

I think actually previous posters are right, anti vaxxers are just thick, and gullible. Imagine believing some shite off Facebook over PHE and thinking somehow you know more than Chris Witty and his lot do.

@the80sweregreat

This is the thing, none of them are stupid.

They could be people who don’t know many who have had covid or everyone they know have had it mild so think it’s exaggerated.
Of course the element of control from the government is there, and in their experience it’s probably unnecessary.
There’s also all the news about how the government themselves aren’t sticking to any restrictions so they’re making their own assumptions about that!
