Scenario:

A spends a couple of hours with B on Sunday doing an indoor activity and having lunch together.

A test positive on Monday.

How likely is A to have Covid and when are they likely to test positive?

Do you mean how likely to have covid or omicron specifically?
Did A have any symptoms before testing positive?
Are you in London or a high omicron prevalence area?
If delta, it takes 3-5 days on average to produce symptoms in a subsequent case. If omicron, more like 2.

Is B vaccinated and how many times? Had covid previously?

ScarlettSunset · 15/12/2021 19:31

If A had symptoms before Wednesday then B might possibly have caught it. If so, they may get symptoms around Friday if they caught it. If A didn't have any symptoms before Wednesday then I think it's fairly unlikely B would have caught it (given that their contact was over 48 hours before A got symptoms)

You've already said they tested positive Confused
Do you mean B?
It's very confusing

Thank you for indulging me Thanks A & B are children, we live and area with a huge spike, not sure of Omicron or Delta. Yes, Greater London.
A did not have any symptoms on Sunday.

Under 12 and not vaccinated

If London it’s more likely to be omicron than delta. Quite a high chance that B will have been infected then. Are you doing daily LFTs?

(on the child)
