Covid again after 2 months?

I tested positive roughly 9 weeks ago. Have now been in contact with a confirmed covid case. Just found out earlier today. In contact 5 days ago actually and feeling exhausted today and like I'm coming down with something.

How likely is it that I could be positive again?

Know various pieces of advice say 3 months minimum, but does anyone know of anyone who has had it in this time frame or has heard differently? Thanks

I read on another thread that you can catch omicron directly after or even at the same time as delta.
But how can you know without a pcr which isn't to be used within 3 months of previous infection!

I'm guessing that your first infection was delta going by the time period, so it is possible that you are now infected by omicron. However I will say that since first having COVID getting any viral infection triggers off some of my old COVID symptoms and I've thought Ive been reinfected several times when I wasnt.

Did you ever get a negative lft after you had covid? I "tested it out" when I had covid, ie I kept doing lfts until they came out negative, so I would know that a positive after that would mean a new infection.

Officially some people can keep showing positive from the same infection for 3 whole months, so they won't even let you book a pcr within 3 months of a previous infection. So even a positive lft would only be for your own information really! (Fwiw I think this is a but of a time bomb waiting to happen - I'm sure people will start catching omicron within 3 months of having had delta, and they won't be "allowed" to be pcr tested, so they won't be isolating)

My dh was told by test and trace that you could have a pcr within the 3m period after covid ( if having symptoms) so they can type it as it could be a new strain.
