Likelihood of Dd not getting it.

3 out of 4 of us have tested posting. Dp last weekend back to work Thursday. DS last week and me on Sunday. Dd is still negative. She's 6 and has sen. We haven't distanced from her but took some precautions - windows open, cleaning all the time and no face to face. Ds has sen too and had a cough. He often forgets to cough into his elbow so likelihoodnis that I he's coughed near her.

Is there a chance she won't catch it?

Anecdotal (obviously) but when it did the rounds in my family the youngest (6) didn't catch it. Or if they did they never showed any symptoms or tested positive.

It was strange because he was the one everyone was worried about before. The type of child always knocked off their feet for weeks with lingering effects of chest infections/ coughs. I think in a lot of cases the younger the child is the more they appear to have a natural level of protection and I remember at the time reading some things in the BMJ / science-y websites about it which I've since forgotten. Something about T cells? Don't quote me. Grin

Hello, I had covid back in February. Pretty sure I caught it from my 6 year old because he had a close contact at school and I work from home. He nor his 4 year old sister never showed any symptoms at all. So fingers crossed your 6 year old doesn't get it. X

So many threads about this and so many experiences of households where some got it and some didn't. Just one of the weird wonderful quirks of this virus.

Thank you. Interesting. She's actually still coughing from a non covid virus she had a month ago. We've been watching out for new symptoms and testing but she's missed it - so far!
