I know it's dependent on many factors, but I'm interested to hear other's experiences.
I saw my brother yesterday and he was at my house for about 3 hours. He had no symptoms at the time.
Over night, he developed a cough and this morning his Lateral Flow was positive.
He's vaccinated (as am I) though no booster yet.
Is it only a matter of time before I test positive?!

I just found out I'm pregnant so freaking out a little.

Think of the close contact criteria so were you:

  1. Within 2 metres of each other for more than 15 mins. or
  2. Between 1-2 metres of each other for more than a minute
  3. Within 1 metre of each other at all.

If you haven't broken any of those, it's unlikely you'll get it unless you don't wash your hands much and bite your nails, etc (fingers in eyes or mouth). Close face to face contact is by a long way the most likely way to get it (past kissing on the mouth!)

Yes, definitely as close as 1m apart unfortunately as we played a board game. We had both done lateral flows that morning (negative) and had no symptoms, so thought the risk was very low.

Ahh. That might not be great then. The new daily LF testing guidance starts today so as long as you're fully vaccinated (2 jabs and second jab was more than 14 days ago) you don't need to self isolate. This is all as long as his positive LFT becomes a positive PCR of course. Good luck.

Thank you, I really appreciate the advice!
