Anyone doing this? Interested to hear if anyone considering this given high infection rates this close to Christmas.

No not a chance. They are finally getting things like Christmas parties at school and nativity plays so mine are going unless they get sick. They have missed too much already.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 12/12/2021 20:51

Nope, they could catch it anyway, my child will love the last wk of school- I don’t see how I could pull them out and then be up in arms if they shit the schools again.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 12/12/2021 20:52

Shut not shit…

Toughtips · 12/12/2021 20:54

I've thought about it. But then again, it seems only to be a matter of if not when they bring it home. I wish schools would have switched things up this year. Our school aren't breaking up til the 22nd which seems so late. I wish they'd take less time off around summer and break up earlier when there's so many germs going round.

AnnaSW1 · 12/12/2021 21:00

Nope. They need to go to school.

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 21:01

No chance

They’ve had it recently anyway

bumbleymummy · 12/12/2021 21:01

No

Monkeytapper · 12/12/2021 21:02

No way, they’ve missed enough school already yeh past couple of years

Remmy123 · 12/12/2021 21:03

No way

Madness

Onehotmess · 12/12/2021 21:03

Mine are off as they both have Covid. I would have 100% sent them in if not

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 12/12/2021 21:04

Yes I probably would if we had gp visiting and special stuff happening with the family. But we don't and they have had it fairly recently so I'm hoping they do have anti bodies.

FindingMeno · 12/12/2021 21:04

Nope.

Figgygal · 12/12/2021 21:04

Of course not they finish on the 17th as it is

Porthia · 12/12/2021 21:04

No but I understand why people are nervous especially if they want to see vulnerable family members at Christmas.

I am sending mine in as per usual although we’ve already had quite a bit of time off the last couple of weeks with a stomach bug and a nasty cold (not covid - yet). Who knows what next week will bring!

2toastornot2toast · 12/12/2021 21:06

I know lots thinking about it in my dc school due to high levels unfortunately we cant as both working but it will be a very nervous week. Both kids have to have daily lfts as do I due to close cases. We are hoping to go stay with family for xmas but we will see...

Itsnotover · 12/12/2021 21:06

No. My daughter is off on a trip tomorrow.

N4ish · 12/12/2021 21:08

No way! They need every hour they can get in school after all they’ve missed.

shouldistop · 12/12/2021 21:09

No, his last day is the 21st and he'll be in until then unless he's sick.

BunsyGirl · 12/12/2021 21:11

No. 1. They had Covid at half term (just a mild head cold); 2. One has already finished school (indie) 3. The other has an week of Christmas events planned which I don’t want him to miss out on e.g. panto, Carol service; 4. They have missed too much school already.

RowanAlong · 12/12/2021 21:14

No way - this is the last week with all the fun Christmas cheer. Let them have that, seeing as no one knows what will be happening next with Omicron!

jupitermars1345 · 12/12/2021 21:16

No
She is looking forward to the last week

Largethighsbadeyes · 12/12/2021 21:20

I am for the last week. Terminally ill parent and it may be his last Christmas. We will be staying away from people as much as possible in those 10 days.

We are doing what's right for our family and others will not agree with it, I understand that.

HariboMaroon · 12/12/2021 21:21

No but lots of other parents have in my sons class. Bloody bonkers.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 12/12/2021 21:25

Yes but only younger 2 as primary has an outbreak and we’re due to fly to see family this Christmas. I wouldn’t in other circumstances. Head teacher called to discuss and was very supportive. Dds have been minimally effected by lockdowns - benefit of having a ready made playmate as they are twins. Dd1 is in school because she’s at secondary, they wear masks, she’s vaccinated, she’s had covid and her class has had no cases since half term. I think we’re in the minority with our choice. We also isolated last Christmas.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 12/12/2021 21:27

I’ll add, dh is home schooling with us setting the work.
