Migraine and vaccine

I'm due to get my vaccine today.

I have a had a migraine since Saturday morning, and nothing is getting rid of it fully, only taking the edge off.

Should I just postpone it a few days? I can go to a walk in centre any time this week, so its not an issue.

I just don't want it to prolong the migraine/make it worse as I will have to take a day off work?

FYI, I've just started a new temporary job so I cant afford to take time off (hopefully it gets made permenant, and I wanna make a good impression)

Tricky! If it was me, I'd be tempted to just get vaccinated anyway, as the migraine is already non-responsive so I'd be of the view may as well get it done. HOWEVER this is from the perspective of someone who gets a migraine at the drop of a hat yet nothing after either pfizer vaccincation Grin Have you had a jab yet and know how you respond?

Also I know it's not how it should but I'd be a lot more comfortable requesting time off a temp job for something you could tell them was vaccine side effects rather than a migraine, if it it does happen to continue (due to vaccination or not).

In terms of coronavirus, delaying it for a couple of days won't make difference so I wouldn't worry on that front

You could have side effects from the booster that mean you can’t do to work tomorrow.
I wouldn’t be wanting to try to distinguish between a migraine and booster side effects. I would delay because you aren’t well.

Distinguising between side effects & migraine is a very good point actually - don't do as I would Grin

Get your booster when you can find a gap in your work schedule, if you have a gap coming. If no gap just get your vaccine, prepare to feel rubbish for 24/48 hrs. Paracetamol, lots of sleep between work shift, leave all chores etc for when you feel better.

I had my booster yesterday, walk in appointment, i feel like crap today and I'm hoping I'm ok tomorrow. With hindsight I should have had it on Friday teatime. I arranged food delivery last night so I don't have to go out, easy family meals, paracetamol and rest. Back to work tomorrow.

I would get the booster as soon as l'd recovered from the migraine.
