How late can I have the booster?

Hi,
I'm 36, was called up surprisingly early in feb for the vaccination and had my second in April.

At the time I queried with the receptionist who called me whether it was correct but understandably they were not interested in a debate so on the basis that I would have it eventually I went with it and got them. No one at the centres ever asked whether I "qualified".

I got the text to book my booster a while ago and booked in for today. They took the ref and confirmed my name and age etc and asked if my job or any health reason qualified me for the booster now. I answered honestly (no) and after a debate between themselves turned me away.

Fine, I appreciate I had been summoned too early in the first place. I'll book in when under 40s are invited.

But does anyone know how long after the second vaccination I can have the booster and it that have an adequate effect?

Thank you in advance!

I’m under 40 and just booked. It’s in the press this morning that it’s now open to under 40s so maybe try online?

Can’t believe they turned you away

Booster will always have an effect
I had mine last week and am assuming I can’t be completely covered until January.

Oh ffs if I missed by a day I'll be so annoyed!! I'm very anxious about injections so had to psych myself up quite a lot!

Although I would say NHS let me book an appointment it was the centre who said no regardless.

Thank you

Under 40s are invited now!

You can book online.

I am astonished they turned you away.

This makes me nervous. I am going about 40 mins for one today… wonder if I should rearrange..

That’s utter madness, I can’t believe they turned you away

Usually if you are able to book that means you are eligible. I’m also amazed they turned you away.

Lots of threads on here about people being turned away. It's madness. Where I vaccinate we do anyone who's willing!

Yes clearly that's the approach taken at the centre I went to last time. This time it was a bigger centre in a stadium.

In my case though I do know I shouldn't have been able to book in the first place, my surgery has made an error at some point and highlighted me as vulnerable which I'm not!

I think it’s taking a while for centres to submit the paperwork to be able to give boosters under six months. Our local one only started accepting them today having submitted paperwork on Wednesday. So stupid that it’s a top down approach instead of bottom up.
