Just posting to give hope to anyone whose loved ones, or indeed yourselves, end up admitted to hospital with Covid.
Partner and I both tested positive 16 days ago. He was at his dads so had to isolate there so I haven't seen him.
Our symptoms seemed the same for first few days then he was definitely getting much worse than me.
He ended up in hospital on Sunday. Covid and pneumonia. On antibiotics, steroids and oxygen in ICU. Was so scary, particularly as we lost a friend (46) to Covid in September so that was obv on our minds.
Anyway, he's home! He got progressively better, stronger, increased oxygen readings etc thanks to the expert, devoted care he received.
He'll have to take things easy for a while and us on antibiotics for a month but he's on the mend and home.
He was told that he nearly died. Heartbreaking when he told me. So we are planning to have the best Christmas and planning our wish list for next year. It's been a wake up call for him and he's very positive about the future a he's so relieved and appreciative to still be here. I'm just looking after him, keeping him fed and watered and letting him know how much I love him. We've enjoyed opening several windows of our advent calendars and will get a tree tomorrow.
So, please remain positive if you or a loved one does have to go into hospital. There are many positive outcomes, like ours, thankfully!
