Booster with Covid in household

Just wondering if anyone knows definitively.
Dd1 (10) tested positive. Needs to isolate.
Dd2 (7) & I negative. I am double jabbed, she is under 18 therefore no need to isolate (although obvs can't leave dd1 home alone for hours...)
I am booked in for booster on Thurs 16th.
Assuming neither I nor Dd2 test positive in the meantime am I ok to have it??

Yes, as long as you have no symptoms.

I had my booster yesterday, and that's one of the things they ask - are you a close contact of anyone with Covid.

It might be better to check with the test centre first.

Dh phoned 119 about this last weekend. They said he wasn’t to get the booster if someone had the virus in the household. The naked scientist Guy on BBC 1 Saturday breakfast news disagreed and said that you should get the booster regardless, but DH has rebooked for when dc are out of isolation.

We just had this situation. DH is immunocompromised and was due for his third vaccine. 119 told him to go asap to the nearest walk in when DD tested positive. He did and they turned him away because he didn't have a negative

PCR, only lateral. He got a PCR but caught covid before results were back. Has been very ill with it

ewchoc · 10/12/2021 20:26

Point being, don't believe what 119 tell you. It probably depends on the staff doing the vaccinations but you'll likely need a negative PCR to get jabbed. If you can get a PCR back in time though, I would if I were you.

Can you get it at a walk in asap rather than waiting for the 16th? Otherwise chances are you will catch it in the meantime

Doubt it- it’s one of the questions before they jab you “anyone in the household with covid”
