Day 2pcr negative, now test and trace?

I returned to the UK from Spain on Sunday. I have had both vaccines plus booster. I did my day 2 PCR test via Chronomics and received a negative result last night.

This morning I've been contacted by test and trace saying I'm a close contact of someone who has tested positive so must isolate for 10 days.

I'm confused about the bit where it says if you're vaccinated and have no symptoms you don't have to isolate and whether this applies or not when you've been contacted?

It must've been someone on the plane due to the timing and requirements of a day 2 PCR test. I'm vaccinated and have received a negative test result but as it wasn't an NHS test I'm unable to log it on the covid app.

Has anyone else been in this situation?

They must have tested positive for omicron. Not much you can do 🤷‍♀️

Not necessarily. This exact thing happened to me a couple of months ago OP. I just filled in the test and trace form and it came up that I didn't need to isolate as I was vaccinated. I had just got a negative PCR from the day 2 test and so didn't waste an NHS one.

Have they sent you a link to fill out or called you?
If they called and went through the questionnaire and you still have to isolate the person will have tested positive for Omicron.

Also were you vaccinated in the UK? .

Just to update, I was contacted by text and email so followed the link provided to fill out my information. At the end it said I don't have to isolate but I do need to take a PCR test (nowhere to register that I've already had a paid for test) so will be doing that at lunchtime.

Yes, all 3 vaccinations were in the UK.
