Does anyone know anything about HEPA filters for the home?

I keep looking and there are so many.

I'm after something I can use for the home or the office (I may get one two) that, of course, works for viruses as well as allergens.

I am after an affordable unit with readily available affordable filter refills.

Any advice welcome.

Not overly affordable but shark vacuums are good for allergies.

I believe a lot of vax models have hepa filters too.

I've got a Dyson air purifier with HEPA filters. I got it a few years ago as my son has allergies. It was really expensive but to be fair we've not needed to change filters yet and I have it on a lot.

How noisy are they?

I live in a three-story house converted into flats leading off the hallway and stairs. The communal hallway is stuffy and there's no ventilation apart from when someone opens the front door. If and when someone in one of the other flats gets Covid they will surely still go into the hall to answer the door for deliveries. So I was also thinking a HEPA filter air purifier might be a good idea.

I read it as hepa filter vaccums. I'm so sorry op, I am not switched on today! Don't know anything about actual hepa filters, sorry!

Has it made a difference to your son @Firstworddinosaur? I have a permanently blocked nose and cough, presumably due to allergies, and I was wondering if it would help. Is it very noisy?

I have a meaco unit that we use as a dehumidifier in winter and as an air purifier with HEPA filter in summer. It has helped enormously with my hayfever. It is noisy but you get used to it - constant background hum.

It has, especially in the summer with pollen.

I bought one a couple of years ago because I have a lung problem.
It's very quiet, several settings.
Doesn't noticably make any difference.

Also I have allergies and perennial rhinitis. It didn't help.

I'm looking at this one. The filters do not look too expensive.

Deal: Levoit,White Air Purifiers for Home Bedroom, Quiet True HEPA Air Filter for Allergy, Smoke, Dust, Remove 99.97% of airborne Particles, Up to 21㎡, With 2/4/8H Timer, Soft Lights, Child Lock, Vista 200 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07XY193BY/ref=cmswwrcppapiglttfabcdllPK6HG4P2ND5EBD13YYRE

Several of the family have allergies but if and when covid comes to visit it should help reduce airborne virus particles.

I'm thrilled with our filter. Allergies already seem better and house smells fresher. We went for Levoit Core 300 and may buy a second.

I saw this in case anyone is looking
