Are people going back to wfh?

We all wfh in first lockdown.
2nd lockdown most wfh but employer said anyone that wanted to could go in if wfh difficult.
We’ve all been back since isolation rules changed in aug.
Although we can work from home our employer prefers us to office work as it does make certain aspects slightly easier.
Expect we’ll have an announcement about what they are doing next couple of days but just wondering what are most employers doing? Are they going back to full wfh where employees can or carrying on requiring people to attend.
Personally I like wfh as I get more done as we are really busy but I like the cut off of a start and finish when in office

yes, I'd only got to two days a week in the office, and we were told yesterday, we are back to full time wfh.

Not a chance unless my employer is willing to pay for an extra room in my house.

I've been wfh since March 2020. Go into office when needed which is 1-2 per month. I prefer to wfh.

@Ozanj

I can’t wfh as I own and run a nursery - but I have asked parents who are wfh and who no longer need childcare to let me know asap so I can prioritise parents who have been told to come in 5 days a week. If people aren’t honest with me then I will move back to a key worker only policy.
And presumably you won’t be charging these parents for anything they pay privately and will be handing their funding back to the d of e? As people have said people are wfh so they still need the child care and besides that I thought nursery was not just childcare it was early years education so even if people are not working at all their child is still entitled to their education.

I don’t understand the nursery thing - ‘work’ from home is exactly that, working, not looking after pre school children!

Dh's office very sensibly said if you have a business or personal need, come in.

OhMyCrump · 10/12/2021 08:24

Hopefully @Ozanj has realised their error.

Fuckinellitsme · 10/12/2021 08:28

DH has never stopped. The rest of his office went back for two days a week in September but I'm CEV so he carried on wfh to avoid packed public transport and sitting in an office with lots of people. He misses the office terribly (though not the commute so much!) but they've been brilliant, particularly bearing in mind that they don't really have a duty of care to me. His boss has been so understanding.

The rest of his office are now, too though!

I think the parents at @Ozanj must be baffled. Then will be eve more baffled by the back track.

Our office remains open for those who are not able to work from home. Otherwise, we moved on to agile working so 100% return is not envisaged.
