False positive PCR test

Hey, was wondering what to do in this situation.
My son early last week tested positive on a PCR test after showing symptoms, we all have been in isolation since and been very strict with mask wearing, hand washing while in the house with him.
We all got tested day 2 and apart from my son, me and my daughter tested negative. Day 8 comes and PCR test for my daughter is positive, no symptoms at all and she hasn't been near him since his positive result. I have done two home tests after on my daughter with negative results and within 24hrs did another PCR test on her which has also come back negative.
Do we continue to isolate on the one PCR positive with no signs of Covid or listen to the 1 PCR negative and 2 LTF tests that were done less than 24hrs after the positive?
Thanks for reading

Anyway, thank you to all that have explained. I'm keeping her off school and isolating for another 10 days as from the result.

Tbf @lalaloopsy83 it does actually sound like you are arguing the toss.

Or, you could actually read where I asked what to do as I was confused after not speaking to T&T and how I'm now going to isolate her from the advice given

We had this. It's a positive PCR test and she needs to isolate. T&T were of the opinion the second PCR (done on their instructions) was far more likely to be a false negative than the positive one be a false positive.

Day 8 is for your son. That is now day 1 for your daughter. It doesn’t matter what came after, she has to legally isolate.

Say you send her to school tomorrow (9th). The child she sits next to could catch it off her, test positive next week and have to isolate over Christmas. Think about that.

You say 'we've isolated'
Only the positive person isolates.

I meant myself and my daughter, I'll have to isolate with her to look after as no one else can come round the house. My sons back to school tomorrow as his isolation is now over

Where are you?? I'm thinking not England.
Nothing is going to overrule the positive you have for your daughter, but it will affect what the rest of you can get up to.

dementedpixie · 08/12/2021 17:09

I think in Wales you do day 2 and day 8. You are more likely to get a false negative than a false positive so your dd needs to isolate for 10 days from her positive test.

@lalaloopsy83 it was a cross post,
apologies 🤷
