Do you not need to take a test on day 10?

So all the rules (both on NHS website and emails etc from track trace) seem to suggest I no longer have to isolate from 10 days after start of symptoms. NHS states that even if still have cough / don't have taste / smell sense you still no longer need to isolate. There's no mention of a test. Do people just start going out and about even if they still have these symptoms? Are you just no longer infectious after 10 days?

Has anyone done a LFT on / after day 10 and is it always negative (I'm only on day 6)?

Yup unless T&T advise otherwise and if you have a fever you need to keep isolating.

My understanding is that you shouldn’t do a test 90 days after testing positive, unless you have new symptoms.

“ If you have previously received a positive COVID-19 PCR test result, you are not usually advised to be re-tested within 90 days of this result. However, you should have a PCR test within 90 days of a previous positive PCR test if:

you develop any new symptoms of COVID-19
you are a close contact of someone who has been identified as a suspected or confirmed case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19
you are required to take a PCR test upon entry into the UK”

Thanks. So you don't take a test and unless you have a temperature you can stop isolating. Just going to feel weird if I still have strange symptoms!

Hope you're doing ok Fishies.

No testing required. Most people are not infectious after 7-8 days. 10 is cautious. But some people will stop being infectious after 5 days & some 10 or later.

Same when you have a cold or similar. You are infectious for a few days but can continue to have symptoms for ages!

Temp or stomach upset, you should still isolate. Cough, loss of smell and generally feeling unwell, you are free 🙌🏼

Honeslty ive found it absolutely horrible how are you doing? I only had a sore throat on day 1 and then cold symptons sneezy deep cough so tired and now getting out of breath i havnt been sleeping well its now spreaded to my husband and we've got 2 young children to care for its been awful

Thansk everyone for the information as I was concerned about that

I believe the only reason you'd have to carry on isolating after day 10 is if you still have a fever.

Other than that, good to go. Coughs can linger ages, smell and taste and can take a while to come back.

No further testing required. Our whole house has currently got covid and it's my daughter's last day of isolation today, she's due back at secondary school tomorrow. I've done an LFT out of curiosity on her today and it's came back a very clear negative although I've read some people can be positive for a while after. As long as you don't have a fever or feeling unwell you can carry on as normal at the end of isolation.
