What is the current law in this situation?

Kids extracurricular sports activity run by a private company but in a school hall in the evenings (no affiliation with the school). Parents can stay to watch. Do parents have to wear a mask under the current law? Not asking whether it's right or wrong to wear one or what they should do morally, just need to understand the current law.

There is no law?

I think it depends where you are as in Scotland I believe it IS law to wear masks inside.
As it should be.

Private business can put whatever conditions of entry they want regardless of the law as long as they're not discriminating against people with protected characteristics.

I meant in relation to the new requirement for masks in certain places in England. Sorry should've been clearer.

Having just had a look at the regulations that reintroduce the requirement to wear face coverings in shops and on public transport in England, I can't see any mention of school premises or private clubs. So I doubt it would be a criminal offence not to wear a mask in that setting. But the terms of the contract between the activity provider and the parents may well entitle the provider to say that no one is allowed in without a mask (subject to making reasonable adjustments for people unable to wear a mask due to a disability). For example, if the contract only requires the provider to provide the activity and there's no contractual obligation to allow parents to stay and watch, the provider is then free to set the terms on which it allows parents to stay.

The company providing probably would have done a risk assessment for this, isn't that what you are supposed to do
