Been pinged, can dd still get vaccinated?

I have been pinged , and as I only went to one place that day, I know it was a family meal in a restaurant. It was quiet in there and well spaced out , DH and dd2 had covid three months ago, DD1 and I didn’t catch it.
Dd1 is due to have her second vaccine tomorrow, but the PCR test results won’t be back, what would you do ? Should she go ahead ?
She can do a LFT beforehand . The contact was four days ago.

If she’s not currently sick and has a negative lft then she can get jabbed.

YerAWizardHarry · 07/12/2021 11:06

If she’s waiting for PCR results she should be isolating

@YerAWizardHarry

If she’s waiting for PCR results she should be isolating
Not if it’s just for being a close contact and not having any symptoms
SirVixofVixHall · 07/12/2021 11:29

We are isolating essentially, at least not going anywhere, but we don’t have to.
Neither of us have any symptoms yet, we can both do a LFT before her vaccine. The PCR probably won’t be back until Thurs/Fri.

But she’s not been pinged right? Just you? Close contacts of close contacts have never had to isolate.
I don’t think the recommendation is for contacts of contacts to take PCRs anyway.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 07/12/2021 11:34

Depends where you are I think.
In Wales everyone needs to isolate while waiting for PCR tests.

SirVixofVixHall · 07/12/2021 11:50

I am in Wales but it said I don’t need to isolate so that is confusing. I am the only one pinged as I have the app.

Nothing the app does is compulsory anyway, only if test & trace contact you (at least, that's the case in England). If she is LFT negative with no symptoms I would go ahead with the jab.

SirVixofVixHall · 07/12/2021 11:52

I did order a test for her too, as we were together, but not for DH and DD2 as i think it is too close to them having Covid.
The other two family members have just had PCR tests anyway, as they were travelling.

I don’t want to risk her getting very unwell from the vaccine, I may be mistaken but I think that can happen if you are positive ? Although it must be fairly common as many people might be in the incubation stage without knowing ?

No it doesn't make you more I'll, it just means you can't distinguish between the symptoms of Covid& vaccine side effects.

mejon · 07/12/2021 12:58

Can you attend a test site so you get your results quicker? I'm in the next county up from you and we've done day 2 and day 8 tests over the past week at the Council Office site as DD1 tested positive. The results came through in the early hours of the morning : 1am Tues after testing at 10am Monday and 7am Monday after doing the test at 11.30 on Sunday.

Pob lwc !
