Advice re timIngs of PCR fit to fly test

DS is flying from UK to Geneva this Friday for uni ski trip in French Alps. Can anyone confirm if these test arrangements are correct .
Flight 11.30am Friday.
PCR booked for 12pm Wednesday with result due before 9pm Thursday.
The issue is that Switzerland allows a test up to 72 hours before travel but France is 48 hrs..
After time difference and allowing time for baggage reclaim it could he mid/late afternoon before they reach the French border..
This will be over 48 hrs past the test.
Will this be a problem or do they look at it as 48hrs since journey begun i.e 11.30am.
I would kindly ask for no comment on the sensibility of this trip - it was rebooked from last year and there is no arguing with a ski mad 22yr DS who lost out on so much of his last year at uni.

I would book an urgent results PCR test at Geneva airport to be on the safe side because French officials are not renowned for being flexible, and with a 22yr old brit travelling for a ski holiday during Covid even less so I would have thought. That way he can try it and if not allowed in can go and get his results from the airport. He'll need to book it and pay the surcharge. If he won't do it just let him go and take his chances because as middle aged women we tend to be v cautious but getting yourself in and out of scrapes is what being young is all about isn't it.

ThePlantsitter I definitely think a plan b is a great idea though your right that my middle aged anxt is not appreciated by this lad who knows it all!
He isn't sure about timings when he arrives as it will determined by the tour company - they may be moved swiftly on to the coach. But we have a compromise - he has ordered a lateral flow from a company called C19. A government approved company that send out tests & you get the result ratified on-line virtually instantly. Can be done the day before he fly's & it was only £22. Seems a little too good to be true but they had a very good review in a recent Which article about testing for travel. I think this is as much as I can do now. Have just warned him if he tests positive over there he could face a lonely Xmas in a hotel room. Apparently it'll be worth it 🙂
