Hi all, Dp was close contact with someone with covid about 5 days ago confirmed a couple days later when contact had positive pcr. Dp pcr tested Friday and came back yesterday negative and multiple lft's negative. Still been cautious this weekend but we have been out due to negative test result. Shopping, dropped Dd off at a birthday party etc.

Anyway, today he decided to do another pcr ready for the week ahead of work - very busy at work. No results yet. But did an LFT and a very bright line positive appeared almost instantly. Is this how quick it can happen? From negative pcr 48 hours ago to very bold line?

He has been in work up until Friday - but maybe he wasn't so contagious then as pcr was negative Friday evening.

He hasn't got any specific covid symptoms but had a very bad headache today but headaches aren't uncommon for him. Also a very slight tickle in his throat. It's going to get worse isn't it?!

I'm not sure what the point of this post is but we've managed to avoid covid so far and it's typical we get it now at Christmas. Feeling awful dc may miss all the Christmas stuff at school 😢😢 my eldests last year at primary too! 😢😢

DD took a lft before a funeral, came back hours later with a headache, put it down to the emotions of it all but took another lft. A v quick stong line on the positive.
