4 year old after covid…

My 4 year old ds tested positive for covid 3 weeks ago now, when he had it he had 3 or 4 days of high temp and off food and then seemed ok. But ever since he’s been really fussy with what he eats, things he used to like he won’t touch and I’ve noticed he hasn’t got as big as an appetite as he did before, he refused lunch today where as before he would be asking for it at 10.30 in the morning. Today he didn’t really touch his tea, again. Just starting to worry now, just wondering if anyone had similar experiences and how long it took for them to be back to normal?

Could he have lost his sense of taste/smell but not really understand to tell you?

Sorry to hear that - his sense of taste and smell may have gone funny. My Ds had long Covid in 2020, went off good, very tired and anxious for months and had terrible insomnia (which aggregated the anxiety). My tip would be pureees with really healthy nutritious foods, lots of water, fresh air, extra vitamins and cuddles. Hope he feels better soon!

Oops sorry lots of typos due to predictive phone - “went off food” and aggravated anxiety. Lots of TLC needed and don’t expect him to bounce back- we didn’t know what was going on with our DS at the time.

Yeh he seems more tired than usual too, I’m wondering if he does have a bit of long covid. Yes I’m managing to sneak vitamins in smoothies at the moment! Sorry to hear about your ds! How long did it last?

I have a thread about this. My nearly 4 year old had covid in September. He's since then, been the fussiest eater. It's a nightmare

Oh bless you sorry to hear that! It’s tough isn’t it? I cried last night as he wouldn’t touch dinner 😩

My thread is under a different name but you may easily find it under covid

Mine says all dinner is yucky

My daughter 4.5 when she had covid was tired for about 6 weeks afterwards. Also she got more fussy and she said everything tasted wrong. So it probably is just the covid. They don't class it long covid until 3+ months.

Ah ok I’m hoping it doesn’t last then!
