Someone I know went out with a large group of people last weekend and found out that several have now tested positive. Said person was not only with "person zero" last weekend but has seen the others mid week (who tested positive the day after being with them)

They are just carrying on socialising as normal, have done LFTs but is refusing to get a pcr. I just couldn't do that, knowing I've had close contact with positive cases - everyone in the group is vaccinated, so no, isolating isn't required but I'd expect a bit of common sense?

Have they been notified as a close contact?
There is no legal obligation to get a PCR if they haven't

Madness isn’t it. I’m not sure how much longer this kind of complacency will hold out for though. Common sense isn’t gifted to everyone.

Personally I'd cut out non essential stuff and be as careful as possible but I know other people wouldn't.

I'm not sure that's the point - I know they don't have a legal obligation to isolate until they get contacted by T&T, which they will be soon. I'm just suggesting that would be sensible to get a pcr voluntarily knowing you'd had a close contact, and not go swanning off shopping and socialising.

I’d still go shopping, I’d tell work and give them the choice of me wfh full time or carrying on doing a hybrid. If I needed to still go into the office I’d probably wear a mask all day just in case.

Socialising I’d let people know and give them the option to reschedule. Or maybe change plans to go for a walk outdoors instead. Again may wear masks more often than normal.

I would probably cancel seeing anyone who was elderly or that I knew to be particularly vulnerable.
