Returning to work - should I wait for symptoms to go completely?

I'm on day 11 of Covid symptoms and obviously off work. My supervisor now wants to know when I'm coming back, but although all the severe symptoms have gone I have no energy, I still have a cough, an upset tummy and I feel like I'm constantly at the beginning of a cold - back of my nose and throat swollen and runny mucus/streaming nose. I only managed to speak to a receptionist at my gp surgery this morning about getting a sick note, she said they're extremely busy, but my boss asked me if the doctor can give me anything to help (I assume she means anything to help me get better quicker). Does anyone know if I should just treat these symptoms as if I have a cold now and go back to work? Or do I need to wait til the symptoms go?

What do you mean upset tummy?
You should wait 48 hours after diarrhoea/sickness before going back to work

Yes you need to wait 48 hrs after upset stomach has cleared.
Hope you feel better soon.

I've had to run to the loo after eating for the last 4 or 5 days. No pain, just diarrhoea. I look grey. Also the lack of energy, also headache and the feeling of being at the beginning of a cold for around 5 or 6 days. I've gone through the severe symptoms like the uncontrollable shaking and shivering, fever, etc. Its just these symptoms. Or do I just dose myself up on painkillers and work through it?

Govt and nhs advice:

You can return to your normal routine and stop self-isolating after 10 full days if your symptoms have gone, or if the only symptoms you have are a cough or anosmia, which can last for several weeks. If you still have a high temperature after 10 days or are otherwise unwell, stay at home and seek medical advice.

Leaving the rules aside, you don’t sound well enough to work! Your boss isn’t being reasonable.

I think the advice from NHS is you can go out with a cough and loss of taste/smell but if you have a fever, you have to continue self isolating.

But if you're not well enough to go to work, stay off.

T&T said to me I should continue to isolate after ten days if I still had a temperature or an upset stomach. Those two things specifically.

A cough, no, because it can last for months. The tiredness can persist too. Are you even able to work?
