If you are fully vaccinated you do not need to isolate, under 18's do not need to isolate either.

If you the adults are not fully vaccinated you will need to isolate for 10 days from the last contact with the person.

It is recommended you book a PCR as a close contact but you will likely receive contact from track and trace shortly which will confirm this.

DeclineandFall · 01/12/2021 09:52

Just do a lft everyday for the next week. If you get contacted by T & T to do a test or get symptoms book a PCR. Incubation period is around 5 days so getting a PCR too early wont tell you anything really. As PP says if you're Double vaxed you can carry on except for the period between you go for the PCR and get results. Obvs if you're positive you're in quarantine for following 10 days.

Mumdiva99 · 01/12/2021 09:55

You book yourself a PCR test. On the website you say you are a close contact, and it asks how you know and you select 'other'. Don't wait for T and T to contact you as they might not. The person with covod might have kist told t and t that they will inform those at the wedding.

As others have said if you are in England and double vaccinated you do not need to isolate while you await the results - unless you have symptoms....in which case you definitely do isolate.

ShowMeTheSugar · 01/12/2021 09:58

Guidance will depend on where you are and if you are double vaccinated or not. Best check your local government website

If they do the genome sequencing and the positive case at the wedding was omicron, you have to isolate even if you're fully vaccinated.

CurlsLDN · 01/12/2021 10:04

My son has covid currently and I had the long call from test and trace yesterday. Although I told them the places he'd been - including to a friend's house the day before - they didn't ask me for any names or contact details, just addresses, so it's unlikely they will contact you.

Lulu1919 · 01/12/2021 10:28

You can get a PCR as you were a close contact
Just go online
I did it yesterday ...logged on at 10 ...had PCR at 11

MRex · 01/12/2021 10:48

Are you in England? If so then "her mum" has already told you what to do; you book PCR tests for the whole family and take them. What are you confused about? If you can minimise unnecessary contact until you get the results then great. You'll be instructed to isolate if you get a positive PCR result. If the other person had Omicron then you'll also be contacted separately to isolate.

You could have left the kids in school.

Since you and dh are double vaxxed, you don’t need to isolate.

I’d just be extra careful if you can if your pcr comes back negative.

HelplesslyHoping · 01/12/2021 13:08

Surely your husband should be doing a PCR too? There's no reason why he shouldn't

Fishies · 01/12/2021 16:01

Yes he has done one this afternoon.

I do love mumsnet but why would you ask a bunch of randoms when you can actually look at the official guidance??

Watapalava · 01/12/2021 16:13

You don't have to do anything. You are officially not a contact unless contacted by T&T. Vaccinated or not, no one has to isolate unless contacted officially by T&T.

School are not allowed to stop your child attending whilst asymptomatic and waiting on PCR.

Cookerhood · 01/12/2021 16:15

If the wedding was Saturday you would be unlikely to test positive today anyway.

Wellarentyouacleverdick · 01/12/2021 16:37

I had lunch with a friend last week who has since tested positive. I've had no contact from T&T but have done a home PCR today. I don't n is if it 'the rules' that you must but there was an option on the website and it seems a sensible thing to do.

I'm not isolating (am triple vaccinated) but I am keeping away from our parents and GPs until I've had the results back.
