Do you have to isolate until a negative PCR test, if no symptoms?

Dd has been asked by school to do a PCR test as she has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive.

She is supposed to be round my SIL’s tomorrow to help dnephew with some homework. I’ve told sil that she is unable to come, but sil is saying the rules are she doesn’t have to isolate if no symptoms.

I’ve had a look online and can’t see to find anything clearly explaining this.

Dd won’t be going out round there, but I just wanted to send sil some information.

Your SIL is correct, though it would be understandable (and perhaps advisable) for your DD to choose to avoid close contact with others till she has her result.

Sil is technically correct. But you would be stupid to do so as there is a reasonable chance she will test positive.

Sil is correct. As a close contact with no symptoms your dd doesnt need to isolate but is advised to get a test.
The school has it's own, understandable, rules.
It depends on the risk your sil /nephew want to take

Also She doesnt need to isolate while waiting for the test result

All presuming she isnt an omnicron close contact of course!
