We have had covid in the household twice. First time only one person had it, second time 2 of us have had it. Still 2 people who haven't caught it either time. Just the way it happens sometimes!

PurpleDaisies · 29/11/2021 10:14

Not everyone catches it. That’s always been the case.

Whywhywhy48 · 29/11/2021 11:56

Well just done a LTF before I went out to shops and it was positive.

Not everyone catches it. We are on day 9 of covid being in the house, only one person. No one else has caught it, the rest of us had negative PCRs yesterday.

Anjo2011 · 29/11/2021 13:09

We all had it nearly three weeks ago, tested positive within three to four days of each other. There are four of us. My youngest DD was negative with lateral flow and PCR until everyone else was nearing the end of isolation, she then tested positive. Every household is different , my thought process was that I’d rather she get it and then we’ve all had it. Thankfully we all had very mild symptoms. I appreciate that isn’t the same
For everyone.

My husband had it in Sept. I didn't catch it and neither did the kids. He obviously isolated but not within the house... I shagged him and everything and didn't catch it. Grin

FindingMeno · 29/11/2021 14:05

3 out of 4 of us had it, and dh stayed stubbornly well.

My OH has tested positive today.

I'm ECV and worried. I'm double jabbed AZ and was due to have the booster. I've been around him so much recently I'm getting worried.

Rockhopper81 · 29/11/2021 16:40

My nephew had it - neither of his parents, or any of his 3 siblings, got it. Just the way it goes something I think?

Cacee3029 · 29/11/2021 18:13

Not everyone who has very close contact will catch it, surprisingly quite common or it might be the case you will but too soon to tell. How far into isolation is your husband? They say average incubation is 5 days but can be more or less.

I know someone who got covid. She's got 2 kids and couldn't really distance from then. Her kids did not catch it from her but caught it
From an outbreak at their school 6 weeks later! It's an odd virus that's for sure!

I hope you and your Dd stay well op 💕

Nootkah · 29/11/2021 18:17

It can take up to 14 days from exposure to develop into an infection. Hope you swerve it.

HRHtheDuchessofStockport · 29/11/2021 18:26

Maybe you have already had Covid and were asymptomatic.

reallysaying · 29/11/2021 18:26

Thanks

He's only got his positive today. He put his initial symptoms down to having the flu jab.

The PCR testing centre said that I don't need to be tested as I had a negative lateral flow this morning, which goes against everything else I have read.

Whywhywhy48 · 29/11/2021 18:28

I've not swerved it did a lateral Flow and it was positive. Just waiting results of PCR. My daughter isn't happy. She is 10 and had negative LFT this morning. Do I send her to school? She walks there with a friend.

Sorry to hear this @Whywhywhy48

I hope that it is only mild for you.

reallysaying · 30/11/2021 11:32

The person who passed it on to my OH is an anti-vaxxer. I'm CEV and shielded for ages to avoid this scenario.

I'm gutted at the moment.

I'm CEV. My DC had it and I never caught it despite him not isolating at all.
reallysaying · 30/11/2021 16:56

Thanks @DriftingPlateTectonic

I've been invited for a PCR after they initially said I didn't need one.
If the first one is negative, how have others gone about getting a second one later?

JanglyBeads · 30/11/2021 17:11

Just book another one, no one checks how many you’re having

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 30/11/2021 17:28

According to the guidance / rules your Dd should still be going to school

But frankly she should probably have a pcr and stay home til she gets the results - according to common sense. But that’s not the rule so who knows.

hopeishere · 30/11/2021 17:35

@reallysaying DH is CEEV and DS had it last week and no one else got it. My only caveat is we live in a big house and DS was mostly in his room when it was "brewing" and then isolated in his room. But you can hopefully avoid it.
