PCR test results not coming back together

Hi - not sure where else to ask, so thought here was as good as anywhere - is it normal for PCR tests done at the same time (at test centre) to come back at different times? We took our kids to be tested yesterday morning and one has come back already over an hour ago (negative) but the others are still not back. When we've tested more than one person from the household at once before they've all come back at the same sort of time...just worried that this might mean one is positive...Confused

My kids came back over 24 hours apart. Both positive. The one with symptoms came back first, the other one had no symptoms untill few days after he tested.

Ours have come back at different times. They don’t all stay together once they’re posted (why would they?) so I don’t worry about it.

When you're at a test centre, they all get dropped into the box and then delivered to the lab. They dont all stay together and will just be tested in the order they were picked out the box.

We've done a mix of home testing and testing centre quite a few times. Sometimes results are hours apart. Sometimes one result comes in and then it's 4/5 hours and then 2 results come in within minutes of each other.

Nothing sinister is going on. Theyll get to it when they get to it.

Ours came back in two batches a couple of weeks ago, about 5 hours apart.

We’ve had both extremes of this. Had tests where 5 tests have come back in the same minute and I’ve got really confused trying to read all the results. Then we’ve had tests where one has come back negative and the others have come back as ‘unable to be read’. We’ve had it where test results have come back hours apart and one has never materialised, 119 have been unable to chase it and it was deemed lost and had to go for a second test. I don’t think it means anything, but it does make me wonder how the samples are processed and I’d quite like to see how the process works.
