Vague symptoms

DP and my toddler have had a “cold” the past few days, toddler with a cough. Today DP felt dizzy when he got up this morning, then told me that he woke up at midnight with a splitting headache that he took painkillers for!

PCR booked.

Feels very unlikely as we are both fully vaccinated including a booster over 2 weeks ago..

Anyone had symptoms like these and been positive?

Sounds like classic covid symptoms. Double vacc'd only means you are less likely to be very ill. Hopefully you will recover soon.

A huge, huge percentage of those in the hospital my DS works in are double vaccinated. It doesn't make you unlikely to catch it.

My first symptom was a headache that I could not get rid of (take paracetamol, not ibuprofen in case it is Covid). Rapidly followed by bone aching exhaustion, genuinely unable to get off the sofa.

Whathefisgoingon · 25/11/2021 21:20

The vaccines absolutely do help prevent symptomatic disease and especially so the booster.

Just wanted to clear that up.

Those were my initial symptoms. Headache and feeling jet lagged.

No way of knowing until pcr results are back. Could be covid but just as likely to be a cold. The jab would not have stopped your Dp from catching it if it was covid though. It may reduce symptoms but people are definitely still getting ill after being fully jabbed.

Largethighsbadeyes · 25/11/2021 22:47

If it helps I had these symptoms this last week. Exhaustion, streaming nose, sore through, clogged chest, headache...not covid. There are some nasty fucking colds going round at the moment.

I started Wednesday last week and today is the first day I've felt ok ish

Almost all the people I know who have tested positive in the past month or so are double vaccinated and some recently have had a booster. It isn't 'very unlikely' at all I'm afraid. It could be a normal cold of course. Do you have any LFTs you can use whilst waiting for PCR results?

Whathefisgoingon · 26/11/2021 13:49

I mean statistically speaking, after a booster it is very unlikely.

LF’s are negative. Waiting on PCR results.

You can still get covid whilst vaccinated so yes.. it couid be covid

Fallagain · 26/11/2021 16:50

If your toddler has had a cough for a few days did you do a PCR on them then or have you just been isolating your toddler?
