Can a 39yo who had second dose 6 months ago get a booster?

I think the answer is no but welcome any views. This is my DH. No underlying conditions, not a frontline worker etc. But he got called relatively early for his first and second jabs. No particular reason, our area just seemed to go quick. So now he’s at 6 months post second dose and I don’t think he can get a booster as he’s not yet 40. Is that right? I understand they have to prioritise somehow. But I’m concerned that his protection will be waning simply because of the time he had his first and second doses. He went for those when called. Thanks.

Oh I’m sorry to hear that. It does seem a bit illogical to not let everyone get a booster after 6 months? A bit unfair too. Seems if you’re under 40 you’re being penalised for responding to the call to get vaccinated quickly. We feel that we’re at relatively high risk of covid due to our kids who are young, cannot be vaccinated and are at school. So it would be nice to access the booster to protect ourselves from severe symptoms if the kids do bring it home. I’m 40 and have had mine at least.

I am 60 and only had mine on Friday. I kept checking the booking website until it let me book the week previously. I personally think boosters should be given at six months, no matter what age.

Yes I agree. I don’t understand why it can’t be after 6 months for everyone with other priority groups being able to get it sooner than the 6 months.
